Terms of Use

Plain terms for using this site, including copyright, reuse and a reservation of rights for text and data mining.

Plain terms for using this site. Nothing unusual, and nothing designed to catch you out.

Last updated 24 August 2026.

This is not legal advice

Everything on Space Law Journal is published for information and comment. It is journalism and analysis, not legal advice, and reading it does not create a lawyer and client relationship with us, with any contributor, or with any organisation a contributor works for.

Space law changes quickly. Rules that were accurate when an article was published may have been amended, replaced or struck down since. Always check the primary source, and take advice from a qualified lawyer in the relevant jurisdiction before acting.

Accuracy

We work from primary sources and we check them. We still expect to get things wrong from time to time, and when we do we correct the article and add a dated note. Our approach is set out in the editorial policy.

We give no warranty that the content is complete, current or free from error, and we are not liable for loss arising from reliance on it.

Copyright

Articles are the copyright of their authors. Where we publish a contributed piece, the contributor retains copyright and grants us a non-exclusive licence to publish it. Site design, structure and compilation are ours.

You may quote from articles for commentary, criticism, teaching or news reporting, with attribution to Space Law Journal and a link to the original. You may not republish a whole article without permission. If you want to syndicate something, ask us and the answer is often yes.

Images

Most imagery on this site comes from public domain government archives, principally NASA. NASA material is generally not subject to copyright, but that does not mean it can be used to imply endorsement by NASA or any other agency. Check the source’s own usage guidelines before reusing an image.

Links out

We link constantly to regulators, courts, treaty bodies and other publications. We do not control those sites, we are not responsible for their content, and a link is not an endorsement.

Text and data mining

General reservation of rights: the content on this site may not be used for text and data mining or for training machine learning models without our written permission. This is an express reservation for the purposes of Article 4(3) of EU Directive 2019/790 and equivalent provisions elsewhere.

Acceptable use

Do not attempt to disrupt the site, scrape it at a rate that degrades it for others, or use it to distribute unlawful material. If comments are open on an article, keep contributions civil and on topic. We remove anything defamatory, abusive or unlawful.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Delhi have jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer protection rights you have where you live.
