Space Law Journal reports on the law and regulation of outer space. Licensing, liability, spectrum, space resources, orbital debris and the treaties underneath all of it.
We started it because the coverage that exists sits in two piles that rarely meet. On one side, academic writing on treaty interpretation that a practitioner cannot act on. On the other, trade press that reports a rule change without explaining who it binds or when it bites. There is very little in between, written for people who have to do something about it on Monday.
That gap is what this publication is for.

Insights
Long form analysis of the questions the sector actually argues about. Ownership, liability, jurisdiction, and the distance between what the treaties say and what operators do.
Regulatory Updates
What changed, who it binds and when it takes effect. Rule changes, consultations, enforcement and licensing developments, with the docket numbers.
Case Notes
Decisions, consent decrees and enforcement actions where space law met an actual decision maker, and what each one did and did not settle.
Interviews
Conversations with the people who write, apply and argue about these rules. Regulators, in-house counsel, underwriters, operators and academics.
Explainers
Plain English guides to the treaties, the licensing regimes and the career routes. Written for people who are new to the field and do not want to be talked down to.
